If you love sunrise, trekking and adventure…this 6D5N Surabaya travel itinerary is for you! Following is the rundown for this 4D3N itinerary which will cover Surabaya, Batu, Malang, Banyuwangi and Pulau Menjangan.

Day 1: Surabaya – Batu
We will be picked up from the airport and straight away check-in to our Hotel Coban Rondo at Malang. After checking-on, we will head to Coban Rondo which is not far from the lodging.
We will spend much of the day resting and exploring places nearby in the cities of Malang and Batu as we have to set off for our Bromo adventure trip very early the next morning.
Lunch will be provided. As for dinner, we will be brought to culinary tour around Batu. We will visit Alun-Alun (the city square) that goes live at night. 🙂
All activities will be ended not later than 9 p.m. We shall have a good rest for the next day.
Day 2: Explore Mt. Bromo
At midnight (00:00), there will be a morning call reminding everyone to get their gear ready for Bromo. We will start our journey to Bromo by 4WD jeeps. Pananjakan is the best spot to see the sunrise at Bromo. After basking in the early morning sun, we will continue our journey to Bromo crater by horse (optional). There will be 130 steps uphill that we need to go through to reach the crater. Down from the crater, we will refill our energy supply with breakfast. 🙂
Next is a trip to Padang Pasir Berbisik (Whispering Sandy Desert). The ‘as-seen-in-TV’s green Teletubbies Hills Savannah will be our last destination for the afternoon. The Bromo exploration is expected to last until 2 p.m. After that, we head back to Malang. En route, we’ll stop by at the Coban Rondo Falls. We will have our Lunch at Tumpang. Back from Bromo, we will go to our accommodation and take the rest of the afternoon to refresh ourselves.
In the evening, another city exploring time! We will for a night tour in Malang for local culinary delights and delicacies. Yummy!🙂
Day 3: Rafting at Pekalen River
Once we finish our breakfast at the hotel, it’s time for us to explore the friendly shores of Malang. The beaches of Goa Cina (Chinese Cave) and Balekambang are scheduled spots to visit for day 3. Get ready with you swimwear and beachwear! We will enjoy our time on the beach until noon and we will check out from the hotel after that. Next will be rafting time! After rafting, we will head to Blawan where the exploration of Ijen starts. We will arrive at Blawan at night and go straight to our homestay accommodation.
Day 4: Explore Mt. Ijen
Morning call will mark the start of our exhausting yet exciting trip to Ijen Crater! 🙂 Before the sun rises, we will get to see the Blue Fire flaming magnificently bright – a real treat for our human and camera eyes. 🙂 Spoil ourselves with the spectacular views of Ijen before returning to our lodging for breakfast. Next, get ready to trek the path leading to the famous waterfall of Blawan.
We will head to Banyuwangi after that where will be the starting point for our Menjangan Island trip. The rest of the day will be free until dinner time. Lunch and dinner for day 4 will be provided.
Day 5: Menjangan Island – Surabaya
Time to explore Menjangan Island! We will go to Menjangan Island by boat. Menjangan Island is one of the best spots for snorkelling and diving in Bali because of the amazing underwater ecosystem. Check-out time is at noon. We will start our trip back to Surabaya after lunch.
Day 6: Surabaya
This is the last day of our adventure. We will have our breakfast in the hotel and spend the rest of the time explore nearby places before heading to airport for our flight back to Singapore. See you next time, Surabaya! 🙂
