It is near to Bali Zoo, opposite of it to be precise. Even so, the villa still remain as serene, beautiful, fresh as I saw on my friend’s photos before my visit. It is a beautiful resort with all the privacy you could ask for. Just like the name, The Sanctoo means a private or sacred place but with a touch of luxury on it. From the outside, it may look ordinary. But my judgement was changed the moment I entered the place.

The Sanctoo Villa
That morning, I ordered egg benedicts and a cup of Cappuccino for my breakfast while my friend ordered a pastry basket. I was looking at the view in front on me, purposely I chose the seats on the side. The setting of the dining area was simple but somehow it blended well with the lush green environment and I felt good. If you like to stay outdoor and enjoy nature like me, I dare to say, you will like the dining area.
Breakfast at The Sanctoo Villa is prepared upon ordering. There are ala carte breakfast meals that we can choose from the menu. If you don’t feel like going out for lunch or dinner, later on, the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner at a reasonable price yet the taste is not compromised, especially for the Indonesian food. I tried Nasi Goreng Buntut (Oxtail Fried Rice) for my lunch and Crispy Duck on the other night, both were finger-lickin’ good. *Tell ya, I am not promoting KFC*. 🙂
The dining area is located at the most end of the resort. It takes about 5-8 minutes to walk from the lobby or we may request for the buggy ride at the receptionist to send us there and pick us back to the lobby or right away to our villa after that.
The Sanctoo Spa & Wellness
Before we eventually reach the dining area, we will pass by the wooden bridge which will lead us to The Sanctoo Spa and Wellness that is nestled in a tropical rainforest. No further question needed, going for spa session here is recommended. The sound of Wo’s River Gorge that is right behind or beside the treatment rooms can be heard very clearly. And no doubt, during our spa session, all those natural sounds are just therapeutic.
The Villa with Garden View
The Sanctoo Villa is an exclusive resort with 12 villas in its compound. All villas have the similar design with choices of garden or river view and equipped with high standard amenities such as private swimming pool, indoor bathtub, mini bar, hairdryer, illy espresso coffee or tea maker, 43″ LCD Television with 24-hour cable channel. And also the thing that is getting more and more important nowadays – complimentary internet access throughout the villa. Not forgetting the staff that was so friendly and patiently explained the facilities that I had in my villa with garden view, and put all the efforts to let my stay enjoyable.
On top of all those awesome facilities, one thing that gave me an additional pump of excitement was when I saw the Bose Audio Speaker near to my bed! Imagining I could play some soft instrumental music sending me to sleep, Ooh…my stay at The Sanctoo Villa was just perfect! All I wanted to do then was just slowing down my pace and enjoy the peace and beautiful landscape in The Sanctoo Villa.

The Sanctoo Villa is more than a Villa
The Sanctoo Villa is not merely a villa nor in my word, ‘a sanctuary’ only, it has more than that to offer. For those who are interested to hold special events in The Sanctoo Villa, there is an outdoor event space still with the same concept – a peace and stunning setting surrounded by nature – which can hold up to 60 people. Then entertainment options such as Kecak Dance, Legong Dance, Dolanan Dance and other types of performance are also available by request.
For guests who are looking for some adventures, there are guest assistants that can arrange an itinerary of guided excursion tailored specially for you to any of Bali’s famous or secret sites. For sure, don’t forget to check out the Bali Zoo! It’s worth a visit! 😉
