I often hear about that place. I couldn’t remember how many times I have come to Bali and stopped by at Ubud just for the sake of the famous Crispy duck. People said, Ubud is a boring place. Too quiet for people like me that have been living in a big city for almost my whole life. But you will agree that there is a time when you will just want to ignore what other people think or assume and try something new.
The more people say ‘No’, the more you will want to go for it. Rebellion. Yes, sometimes I need to be to. At the same time, since many friends and clients asked about what can we do in Ubud, I might as well check out the place and see if there are any activities that I can recommend for them in the future.
So, I decided to be in Bali much earlier to spend a few days in Ubud before going to Mount Agung for sunrise hiking on the following week with a group of hikers from Singapore. And the place that I chose to stay during my Ubud exploration is SenS Hotel & Spa + Conference Ubud Town Centre. Whether you ever heard or never, just keep reading. 😉

Welcome to SenS Hotel & Spa + Conference Ubud Town Centre
After about 1.5 hours car ride, I reached SenS Hotel & Spa around 1 pm that day from Kuta. I looked at the detail of the exterior of the building. It was a simple modern building with accents of Balinese pattern that runs to the interior of the lobby as well.
One guy welcomed and helped me to bring in my luggage to the lobby while I walked over to the receptionist counter for check-in. Then, I was asked to have a sit on the couch and enjoy my welcome desserts – A Rosella tea with a lemon cake made by SenS’s pastry chef.
Under such hot weather, the welcome dessert surely is a plus. In no matter what condition of heart we are in then, given such sweetness, we would definitely be happier when waiting for our check-in process to be done. With the friendly and responsive staffs serving us, actually those all will just be a bonus.

• Guest Rooms
There is a total of 97 guest rooms for their Superior and Superior Plus type of room and 6 rooms for their Premium room. Details of each room can be found on SenS Hotel & Spa website. For sure, the Premium room has the bathtub and balcony!
The most basic superior twin room that I stayed with my friend has a good size room with all necessary stuff we need during our stay – a comfortable bed, a work desk, a wardrobe and ironing board and not to forget the beautiful bathroom with glass panels.
Everything looked so fine with all well-made amenities in the room including the international power sockets that have become an important part of hotel rooms nowadays. One socket at each bedside, so no ‘violence’ needed between me and my friend in order to use it to charge our gadgets.
• Dining Area
The dining area in the hotel, Yvonne Cafe & Bar, serves buffet breakfast for all guests and starts as early as 7 am. I and my friend tried our luck to see if we can have our breakfast earlier because we wanted to go out for a morning walk around Ubud that day. We went to the restaurant at around 6.45 am and they were actually already ready to welcome guests for breakfast.
The dining area is quite spacious, from indoor extended to the outdoor courtyard near to the swimming pool, hence, guests need not to worry about the difficulty to find seats during breakfast time. A wide selection of foods available from fruits and salads to cooked dishes.
What I like most is when I know that all the pastries are freshly made everyday by their own pastry chef. I love pastries and I am very particular about it. Besides breakfast, Yvonne Cafe & Bar also serves lunch and dinner at reasonable prices.
• Health & Wellness
SenS Spa, gym and swimming pool.
“Come on, we are at Ubud! Who will need these facilities if we can just walk out for some exercises and enjoy nature.”
Well, there are always people who love to have these facilities at where they stay. From the past trips that I had, my clients would always ask at least about the spa facility at the hotel we stay during the trip. And some people may not like to swim but love sitting by the swimming pool to relax or read books and so on. Also, I know some people who have the habit to do some cardio exercise or weight-lifting first thing in the morning before starting their days. I think, the needs of people with modern lifestyle nowadays are well-thought here at SenS Hotel & Spa.
• Function Hall & Meeting Rooms

I can’t stop complementing SenS Hotel & Spa for its great location. I could find Ubud Palace and also Ubud Market and many interesting restaurant and cafe at only less than 10 minutes by foot. Walk a little bit further, we will reach Campuhan Ridge Walk where I and my friend had the morning walk the other morning.
