Vasanti Kuta Hotel: Have You Heard About It?

Vasanti Kuta Hotel was only a few minutes car ride away from the airport. No doubt, it is perfect for those who need to stay in Bali yet do not want to stay too far from the airport. I often have to stay one night in Bali and catch my flight early in the morning on the following day – especially when I was going to the eastern part in Indonesia. If Vasanti Kuta Hotel was already there then, I might have become one of their loyal guests I suppose.

    ” Vasanti means beautiful lady.

    The Lobby

This newly built from scratch hotel building was just opened about a month when I visited. It has a quite unique interior touch with some natural elements and colors all around the lobby. The hotel building shape was in rectangular like a shophouse and the receptionist counter was located right at the end of the lobby, next to the lifts. Although the lobby itself may not be as big or as grand as other four stars hotels in Bali, however, I can feel the sense of welcoming as I entered the lobby.

    The Guest Room

The check-in process was fast. So, less than 15 minutes I had already in my Superior room with all the facilities I need during my stay. First thing first, I spotted a work corner in the room! Immediately that had become my most favourite spot beside the seating area by the window. In all, I love the colour scheme used for the room that let me feel warm and cosy.

Is it coincidence or they do it in purpose? The interesting way of using the mirror at the right place – covering the big pillar in the room making the room less boring. Instead, it helps to distract us away from paying attention that there is in fact a big pillar there – a waste of space. That’s what I usually think. But here, I don’t think it that way. The mix and match between mirrors and wooden block blended well with the interior of the room.

The Cabana Pool & Sky Bar

Cabana Pool and Sky Bar, the name has explicitly said it all. It is a bar connecting to the pool, so guests can grab some drinks while they were in the swimming pool as well. The environment of the rooftop is lively with the colors playing all around – from the decorated walls, the seating area, the tiles used for the swimming pool and also on the bar itself.

If you have been following me close enough, you may notice that I am a fan of something outdoor and this Cabana Pool and Sky Bar which is at the rooftop, certainly is a type of place for me. Perhaps, some live music will even spice up the place even better. I don’t drink alcohol much because I am allergic to it (read: few facts about me). Fortunately, there are options for non-alcoholic on the menu list. If we don’t feel like doing anything, spend time sitting by the pool or just lazy around the couch with some books, will be good either.

    The Vasanti Bar & Cafe

Vasanti Bar & Cafe is the in-house restaurant where guests have their breakfast. Their continental buffet breakfast with some choices of local cuisines are served from as early as 7 am to 10 am. Even so, they are ready to take order anytime, 24 hours round the clock, which is a plus point to the hotel.

I remember there was once I reached Bali late night and the hotel that I stayed didn’t have an option for late dinner, not even any option for room service. So, I have no choice that time but to find out for some fast food delivery to calm down my growling stomach. Especially in Bali where many people from different part of the world come here for holiday, the arrival times of the guests are various. Hence, extension operating hours of the restaurant in the hotel is usually favourable.

One of my friends said that the important part of staying in the hotel for him is not all about the room but also the breakfast (and the shower time). I do agree on this. Sometimes, during our normal working days, we don’t have time to enjoy our breakfast properly.

Often, we will just grab a quick bite and off to work or probably not having anything at all in the morning. I trained myself to always spend some times at my dining table for my breakfast no matter how busy I am. It is just like warming up session to start off my day – a day full of tasks, and getting ready to have all things done for the day.

Vasanti Bar & Cafe has spacious dining area so need not worry for not being able to get any seats especially during breakfast time or even being rushed to finish your breakfast quickly because someone has been waiting behind you to take over your seat immediately once your butt off from the seat. During my stay in Vasanti Kuta, I tried a few of their dishes in Vasanti Kuta Bar and Cafe for my lunch and dinner. My most favourite among all would be their Nasi Goreng Special (Special Fried Rice). Two thumbs up! Does it look decent? Well, don’t judge the book by its cover.

Next, my second favourite dish from Vasanti Bar & Cafe would be their Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup)! I love soup and I find their Oxtail Soup is quite addictive although I would prefer softener carrots in the soup. However, I think it didn’t affect me much to savour the soup that is rich but not greasy. Well, I can’t stop my hand for getting another spoon of it. The Oxtail Soup menu comes with plain rice and Melinjo crackers. Try to eat the soup by adding a preferred amount of sweet sauce and chilli in to get the best taste out of it.

The Location of Vasanti Kuta Hotel

As I mentioned earlier that Vasanti Kuta Hotel is located near to the airport but then, does it mean that there is nothing else to see except…the airport?

Good news is NO! There is Matahari Department Store or Lippo Mal which is just about 5 minutes walking distance and also the Jerman Beach which is also a stone’s throw. The department store itself consists of stores from both local and international brands. Behind the department store, there is one stretch of small shops selling some local goods and foods that we can explore.

So, have you already planned your trip to Bali?

    1. What a cute place! The food looks amzing. The skybar looks awesome! I’ve never heard of this place, but what an awsome way to spend your first or last night in Bali.

      • It was a short escape for me from busy Jakarta city. Haha..And staying there is kind of therapeutic although not a complete one. But still I felt recharged after back from Bali. 🙂

    2. I have never heard of this hotel before, but the info and especially the pictures you provide from this look really amazing. Was it crowded when you had your stay there, because on your photos it really looks like a peaceful and calm place, which is nice 🙂
Thank you for sharing your experiences!

      • It was not that busy when I was there because it’s on weekday and the peak season is not there yet. But the fact that the hotel has only about 50 guest rooms, so I don’t think it would be as crowded as other hotels even during holiday season. 🙂

      • Orh,..there is no big pepper in the soup. Or maybe it is the carrot looked like one. 😀 The Oxtail soup in Indonesia is not spicy but we tend to add some chillies and sweet sauce in when eat. 🙂

    3. This is a nice review of a hotel. I enjoyed the pictures as well! The nasi goreng made me miss Bali. I will have to make sure to remember this hotel on our next visit. The rooms have a very inviting color scheme and I would love to relax at the rooftop bar and pool!

    4. What a great looking hotel that is conveniently located close to the airport. I like the rooftop bar and pool. Looks like where I would be hanging out if I stay at this hotel.

    5. I didn’t know about this place when I was in Bali. It looks like something I’ve missed out on. What a perfect ambiance. I loved the cabana pool and the sky bar. The food looks so yum.
