I was first introduced to this place when I travelled to Bali with a group of friends. I was curious why they were so eager to eat at this place. After I tried it out, now I understand.
Nasi Pedas is a very popular local food in Bali that shall not be missed! There are many stalls selling Nasi Pedas (Nasi pedas in English means spicy rice) but there is one at Kuta which open 24hrs and most recommended.
It is not a fancy restaurant, very local indeed. They serve Indonesia style mixed rice where we can choose dishes we would like to have served with plain white rice. Their foods are fresh, tasty and inexpensive. And not to forget, at the name is spicy rice, it won’t be completed without their special chilli! But it is advisable to try it bit by bit as it’s really spicy. 🙂
I had my rice with some local fried tempeh (soya bean cake), white radish and shredded chicken. It looks decent but the taste is awesome. The food is running out fast as customers keep coming especially during meal times, a long queue is very normal. That could be why their dishes are always fresh.
If you happen to pass by that area, do remember to drop by and let me know what you think about it!
